December

12/13 Roy Crawford and Scott Miller brought their Honeysuckle Fiddle Christmas Show to the Coffee House. The house was packed, the music was great, it was a very festive and upbeat occasion. They played all the old and new Christmas songs on fiddle and hammered dulcimer and more. This is always old time music at its best.

12/8 I really like Danny Haynes and Mid Life Crisis, they are more than musicians they are entertainers. Danny's give and take with the audience keeps everything alive and fresh. The band had four members, Danny on lead vocal, he is a mean guitar picker too, and Connie Harvey on vocals, she has a great voice, Sherry Talbert on bass and Michael Coggins on lead guitar, Michael is a talented young picker. Danny had a surprise guest, Terry Hinson, who has played bass with the Allman Brothers and Molly Hatchet. Terry played and sang some solo blues and Allman Brothers songs during the break. The band played wonderful covers from a lot of the great rock bands including Lynard Skynard's Tuesday's Gone, CCR's Proud Mary, Breeze from Faith Hill, Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl, Bob Seeger's Main Street, Elton John's Crocodile Rock, Borderline from Thin Lizzie, stuff from The Marshall Tucker Band, Poison, the Allman Bros and much more. It was great. Connie who is from Germany sang a beautiful rendition of Silent Night in German. They closed out with Skynard's Simple Man. Danny passed out clappers, flutes, harmonicas, glow sticks and the audience formed a pick up band. They all played during the interludes in the Beetle's Yellow Submarine. It was just a fun night of humor and good music. It could have gone on much longer. Danny and the band will be back on February 21, 2009.
